Meanwhile, DeFi total value locked (TVL) rebounded to $99.682 billion, and DEX trading volume rose 16.27% to $39.395 billion for the week.

Aave experienced single-day net outflows as high as $6.6 billion, with stablecoins accounting for nearly half. This directly drove USDT deposit rates up to 13.4% and lending rates to 15%. Arbitrage opportunities have been constrained by narrower interest rate spreads.

On April 19, Aave experienced a single-day capital outflow of $6.6B, with about $3.3B in stablecoins. This large withdrawal caused deposit rates for USDT and USDC to rise to 13.4%, while borrowing rates increased to 15%.

Although Binance saw a net outflow of over $31.49 million USDT in just one hour, total stablecoin balances continued to climb, indicating that funds are being circulated among various trading and contract accounts rather than leaving the ecosystem. Meanwhile, negative funding rates in the futures market and declining open interest both suggest there is no large-scale selling pressure in the short term, and USDT’s central role as a liquidity hub remains fundamentally unshaken.

Despite renewed US-Iran tensions affecting oil, stocks, and crypto markets, Bitcoin stabilized around $75,200 on Monday. Analysts note that the US spot Bitcoin ETF saw a net inflow of $996.4 million last week, its strongest since mid-January, supporting the market through institutional demand. However, the market remains in a "fragile balance," with stablecoin balances rising, indicating liquidity is circulating internally rather than exiting the crypto market.
